five months

Jakob turned five months old on Sunday (and then my web host upgraded their servers and we had a bit of a problem with the site). It’s hard to believe it’s been five months since he was born. He holds his bottle when he feeds. He’s working on rolling over and sitting without flopping forward or back or to one side or the other. He’s quite vocal, even talking in his sleep (to who? and what is he saying?); though not sleeping through the night, Dorota has the patience of an extremely patient person, and she carries on nobly (Jakob, if you read this years from now, know that you are a lucky lucky boy who was not given to the gypsies, primarily because there’s a lack of gypsies in the New York metropolitan area, but also because of your infectious laughter and winning smile - if you’re still not sleeping through the night by the time we visit Poland, however, you may well be given to Kashubs).

Jakob has started to laugh. Not just little smile and heh-heh laughs, but big hearty laughter. What a fantastic sound.
